This is a termly assembly theme plan dated for Term 2 of School Year 2024/25 however the dates can be changed.
The termly theme is Peace, Conflict and Choosing Respect with each week having a theme related to this topic or an applicable awareness event e.g. Anti Bullying Week.
This plan is designed for a Secondary School however could easily be adapted for Primary School.
The plan includes a UNICEF Rights Respecting Article of the Week which relates to the weekly theme and a short Bible quotation which also relates to the theme.
Each week also sets out awareness events that are applicable.
Some guidance is given as to what you might like to focus an assembly on each week as well as some thoughts for the week.

It also includes, this year’s official video, reasons people might not report bullying for themselves and others and why it is important to do so, where pupils can get support in relation to bullying and finally a respect and bullying pledge. The lesson uses scenarios and videos to get pupils to consider the impact of a range of different behaviours. Use as an assembly may require minor editing.

The lesson looks at the story behind the festival and ways in which it is celebrated including the option of either creating a dreidel using a template or a creative task.
